Over the past two days (June 26 & 27, 2025), the FLP Achieve Team hosted a Regional Manager Professional Learning Session at Palm Beach State College – Lake Worth Campus. This dynamic event brought together educational leaders from across Florida for learning, collaboration, and strategic planning.
We were honored to welcome Yolanda Miranda-Hill from the Florida Department of Education, who shared timely insights and emerging opportunities to support continued success among our partners, and ultimately Florida students.
Wes Gentry, representing the Classic Learning Test (CLT), provided valuable information on test structure, administration dates, and key distinctions between college entrance exams. Christie McMullen of AVID led an engaging session showcasing innovative instructional strategies used in AVID elective classrooms to support student achievement.
Day two featured a consortium roundtable discussion with representatives from Heartland Educational Consortium (HEC), North East Florida Educational Consortium (NEFEC), and Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (PAEC). Their collaborative dialogue highlighted best practices and regional approaches to shared challenges and opportunities.
We also heard from Tikini Thompson of the College Board, who offered a deeper understanding of the college entrance exams, and Amber Dowdy of ACT, who provided insights into student performance data and the role of the ACT in college readiness.
Along with all of the great content and conversations, our team-building activities helped strengthen connections and build camaraderie, reminding us why working together is key to improving how we operate and better supporting our partners and students across the state.
